Sylvia Herold and Chuck Ervin dig deep to unearth hidden song treasures from the folk, swing, country, cowboy, bluegrass, and pop traditions. The husband-and-wife team features harmony duets in the style of the Everly Brothers, the Louvin Brothers, Buddy Holly, and Burt Bacharach. Herold plays archtop and flat-top guitars, Ervin plucks and bows the double bass, and audiences are encouraged to join them in song.

Sylvia and Chuck ask area musicians to sit in with them when they perform on the second Tuesday of each month from 7 to 9 p.m. at Julie's Coffee & Tea Garden, 1223 Park St., Alameda.
